The present day church, nicknamed Giacometto for its small size, is situated in Campo di San Giacomo across from the 'hunchback of Rialto', and dates mostly to the 11th and 12th centuries. To add to its legendary status, Giacometto is the only building to survive the Rialto fire of 1514.
